Court Member, Independent - appointed by Highlands and Islands Enterprise
Originally from Kelso, Alistair Dodds moved to the Highlands in 1991 and now lives in Inverness.
He held senior management positions in HR and Corporate Governance with the Highland Council over a period of 12 years and was Chief Executive for over 6 years from 2007 until 2013. He has been directly involved in significant public sector reform and delivered the benefits from strong and effective partnership working with the public, private and third/voluntary sectors.
Alistair is a Board member of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (Chair of the Risk and Assurance Committee), and of the National Galleries of Scotland (Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee). He also sits on the Board of two other charitable organisations in Inverness.
He has an MA (Economics) from the University of Edinburgh, an MBA from the University of Dundee and a post grad Diploma in Personnel Management from the University of Strathclyde. Alistair was appointed CBE for services to local government in Scotland and awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the University of the Highlands and Islands in recognition of his work on the integration of health and social care.
