This section covers information on UHI's strategy and management of human resources, rather than information relating to individual members of staff that is exempt from disclosure as personal information.

 

The information available covers personnel policies and procedures (including terms and conditions of service including all current versions of the information specified in each class). In some instances information will be exempt from disclosure where it contains personal information, or information which, if released, may substantially prejudice the commercial interests of any person, endanger the physical or mental health or the safety of an individual, substantially prejudice the effective conduct of public affairs or constitute an actionable breach of confidence.

Promotion

UHI's policies, statements, procedures, guidelines and statistics relating to promotion, re-grading and salary reviews can be obtained from Donna Clark.

Pensions

All staff of UHI, subject to their being eligible under the terms of the Scheme, have the option of joining the Local Government Pension Scheme, as administered by Highland Council. The option to join the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) exists for those staff with current membership of the Scheme.

Discipline

UHI's disciplinary procedures and policies, harassment and bullying policy; other HR policies, not covered by any other class, where disciplinary action may follow if breached are currently under review and will be available in the new staff manual shortly.

Grievance

UHI's grievance procedures and policies are currently under review and will be available in the new staff manual shortly.

Employee relations

UHI has established an Information and Consultation Committee whereby all employees through their elected representatives are able to exchange views and enter into dialogue with the senior management of the Executive office on changes in the working environment that may affect them.
