Niall McArthur

Director of Finance

Niall is UHI’s Director of Finance, responsible for the financial accounts team, management accounts team, grants & contracts team, payroll and procurement.

Niall graduated from the University of Glasgow with an MA in Social Sciences and then trained with a local accountancy firm and became a Chartered Accountant in 1992.

Before joining UHI, Niall’s roles included working for Highland Council and for two years working for a large accountancy firm in Bermuda.

On his return, Niall joined UHI Inverness and spent 17 years at the college, initially as Senior Accountant and then as Director of Finance and Director of Corporate Services. In 2016, Niall joined UHI as Director of Corporate Resources and recently became Director of Finance.

Niall’s other roles include chair of the Inverness Campus Owners Association and Chair of the Finance Directors Practitioners Group.
