Our workshops can be delivered as part of a visit to the STEM Hub or in school.

In collaboration with the Highland Council Energy and Sustainability Team.

Renewable Energy Sources

In this Dragons' Den style sessions students will debate the merits of different forms of renewable energy technologies and learn how these technologies can be used in the Highlands.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

In this session students will learn about the use of infra-red cameras to help improve energy efficiency in Highland Council buildings. Pupils will use infra-red cameras to produce images showing heat movement and thermal conductivity of different materials. Pupils will then try to improve the insulation of a model house and calculate their improvement.

Partnership projects

STEM Clubs

We currently support two STEM Clubs in the Highland Council area. These clubs are run by volunteer senior students and are aimed at S1/2 pupils. The STEM Team can provide training, support and equipment to groups of senior students interested in taking on a STEM Club.
