Presentation: Brexit means what?
Co-hosted by Lews Castle College UHI, the Learning and Teaching Academy and the Civil Society Brexit Project this session will provide clear, up-to-date and expert information on Brexit including timescales, what it might mean for universities and the likely impact on equality & human rights, employment rights, EEA citizens' rights and on rural communities.

This two hour session will provide information and discussion on the following:
• How is Brexit going? - The timetable, process and hurdles
• What is Brexit likely to mean for my organisation?
• What do we know, and what do we not know yet, about Brexit impacts?
• Specific areas that will be covered include impact on equality & human rights, employment rights, EEA citizens' rights and on rural communities.
Maria Fletcher is Senior Lecturer in European Law and Employability officer in the School of Law at Glasgow University. She teaches on EU law-related courses at both under-graduate and post-graduate level and her research interests lie in the field of EU constitutional law and EU criminal Justice and migration. She is on the Steering Group of the University of Glasgow's Refugee Asylum and Migration Network (GRAMNet) and is the Director of the Scottish Universities Legal Network on Europe (SULNE).
Nicole Busby has been a Professor of Law at Strathclyde University since 2012 with teaching and research interests in the areas of Labour and Employment Law, Discrimination Law and European Social Law and Policy. A founding member of SULNE, Nicole is also a member of the First Minister's Advisory Group on Leadership in Human Rights, is a member of the Scottish Government's Employment Tribunal Stakeholders' Forum and serves on the Equality and Human Rights Commission's Scotland Committee (2017-2020).
