Trials Assistant x 2 (part-time)
The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) provides university-level education through a unique partnership of thirteen colleges and research institutions located throughout the Highlands & Islands.
To support our work we have created this new role within the UHI Executive Office, located in the Centre for Health Science, Inverness.
Trials Assistant x2 (part time)
£16,820 to £20,688 pa pro rata
The trials assistant will be responsible for carrying out clinical evaluations of Lifescan products and systems, within the Lifescan Scotland Ltd clinical laboratories at the HCRF, Centre for Health Science. The post will involve direct contact with NHS highland diabetic patients. The day to day duties will range from recruiting patients, planning clinical studies, technical support at clinical study visits, maintenance/QC of equipment, electronic data entry to generation of study progress reports.
The appropriate candidate will have experience working in a laboratory (clinical or health research setting desirable), with excellent organisational, time management and communication (verbal and written) skills. The post holder must have competent PC skills with ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete records and data entries. An interest in health research, in particular diabetes and cardiovascular health would be advantageous.
Two part time roles are available, one working 21 hours per week (0.6FTE) and one working 28 hours per week (0.8FTE). Please indicate on your application form which role you are applying for.
Funding has been secured for these posts for 3 years. There is no guarantee of further employment after the expiry of this term.
