Employers

The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) is the only university based in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. UHI provides access to undergraduate and postgraduate study, and research opportunities through a distinctive educational partnership of colleges and research institutions (the UHI academic partners). Each academic partner has its own character and contributes to the distinctive organisation that is the University of the Highlands and Islands. There are currently over 8000 students studying on undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as many undertaking groundbreaking research with UHI.

The university is committed to working with a diverse range of employers from multi-national companies to SMEs, operating across a wide variety of sectors.  As an employer we welcome the contribution you can make to the institution and are keen to provide you with a service which meets your needs.

Advertise vacancies

The new UHI online vacancies system is now  available and employers can advertise; internships, summer jobs or entry level graduate positions free of charge to students and graduates.

Through ProspectsNet you can enter and manage your vacancies directly on our website by simply completing the on-line form. To advertise for the first time please register and follow the guidelines provided.

If you encounter any problems or would like to discuss the service more fully please email Helen Anton or telephone her on 01463 279213.

Please note the university reserves the right to refuse to advertise a vacancy and may edit your information to ensure maximum impact.

Making a presentation to students

Hosting a student presentation is an excellent way of giving students an insight into your organisation and keeping them up to date with your graduate programmes and internship opportunities.

In order to ensure you reach students across the region, you will be offered the opportunity to utilize our Video Conference facilities.  The Careers Centre will organise the venue, ensure all the technical links are in place and promote the presentation to students through the student newsletter, this website and Facebook pages.   All you will need to do is turn up on the day.

Work experience placement

If you are interested in hosting a student work experience placement we can work with you to develop the placement, advertise it and collate applications to support your interview process.

A named member of our academic staff will remain in contact with both you and the student throughout the placement to review progress and ensure a quality experience for both you and the student.

For more information email Nicola Smith or telephone her on 01397 874209.
