How you organise your jobsearch will not only depend on what kind of work you are looking for but also on whether you are looking for a full time or part time job, and whether you are looking for a job for the long term or the short term.

Remember that the application process takes a long time - sometimes people refer to it as 'a job in itself' - and you should expect to spend several hours on an application form at least and several hours preparing for an interview.
