Staff
The UHI Career Centre is a virtual career centre that aims to provide all students and recent graduates (within two years) with a full range of careers and employability support. Our services are outlined in our student leaflet and are delivered in line with the UHI Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance policy and UHI Employability and Enterprise Strategy.
We are currently working towards Matrix accreditation (the main quality standard for guidance services) and service membership of AGCAS (the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services). All our services are free, confidential, impartial and student-centred and we have a student entitlement statement that lays out what students can expect from us.
I'm a member of staff - what can you do for me?
As a member of staff you are much more likely to be approached by a student looking for careers help in the first instance than a careers professional (British Youth Council, 2009). Knowing how to support your students and where to refer them to is therefore very important. A key part of our role at the Career Centre is to help you have the information and resources that you need in order to feel confident and comfortable working with your students.
