What is the Skills and Employability Award?

The Skills and Employability Award enhances your career prospects by recognising and rewarding students who gain additional skills through participation in extra-curricular activities.  The award provides evidence that you have undertaken and successfully completed a range of tasks focussed on increasing your employability skills, and is a great addition to your portfolio.

Who can participate in the award?

The award is available to all students; from FE to Postgraduate. In order to undertake the Award, students will be allocated a Local Co-ordinator who will help and support them through the process, this may be a member of teaching or support staff or a PAT.

What you have to do to get the award?

There are set tasks which require completion in order to successfully complete the award.  The below diagram outlines the different elements which make up the award.

Please note the award will be assessed in line with the level of study you are undertaking.

What will I gain from participating in the award?

You will gain a whole host of skills required for your future career; whether you are looking for a job, a postgraduate degree, a research position, or you want to start a business.  Skills such as:
