How to choose your modules
Information about our courses is available on our course pages.
If you need more information regarding some modules, please contact the Erasmus coordinator who can forward module descriptors and/or a student handbook which can help you make your module selection. There is also the option to talk to some academic staff for further queries.
Programmes offered by UHI are structured in line with the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). A standard module on a degree programme weights 20 SCQF credits. ECTS has been officially recognised for the purposes of award and transfer of credit and written into the Academic Regulations (1 ECTS=2 SCQF). Your transcript on completion will show both SCQF and ECTS credits.
All our teaching is delivered in English. Exchange students must be confident users of English and have command of English language at a level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or B2 at Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Applications, acceptance and pre-arrival information
You must apply through your home institution's Erasmus office in the first instance. Your home university will check whether you meet eligibility criteria and whether you can receive Erasmus funding and will then nominate you for an exchange at UHI.
You will be asked to fill in the UHI Erasmus application form for incoming Erasmus students and send it to us by e-mail or via your home university with all the supporting documents. Once you have been accepted, you will receive confirmation from the College where the course is being held as well as practical information for you stay.
On arrival students are invited to participate in an orientation programme for international students as well as a regular student induction with all other college students. You will also have an opportunity to participate in the Social and Cultural Programme events throughout the year.
