e-learning events

UHI's annual e-learning day was held on Friday 19th February 2010. Two of the presentations may be downloaded from the e-learning blog, the others will be available soon. For instructions on how to join the blog see the blog page.

e-Lunch

UHI's e-Learning Team will run e-Lunches throughout the year. These are a series of lunchtime sessions for staff on e-learning. Details of the next event will be e-mailed to staff and posted here. The transcript and video of the last e-Lunch, "Blended learning: A student's perspective" will be posted to the L&T e-learning blog.

Effective video conferencing
 
Video conferencing is used  extensively throughout the UHI partnership.  A video conference can be a very involving  experience for staff and students. This session looks at  tapping into the potential for adding interaction to video conferences and for  enhancing student participation. A series of  video conferencing guides can be downloaded from the guides page.

The training lasts 2 hours (with a  break in the middle) and includes presentation, discussion and brief  activities. The following sessions can be amended to suit staff needs. Blackboard training for staff

The e-Learning Team have created a Blackboard template for staff that provides Blackboard information and guidelines. Staff can base new modules on the template as it can be copied across to modules as a whole. Specific items may also be copied across to any module. The template is customisable and any area may be also be hidden or deleted (as required). To view the template please e-mail the e-Learning Team (elearning@uhi.ac.uk) and include your UHI user id. Once you have been added to the template the next time you log in to Blackboard you will find it on the Home page, in the My Modules, Courses in which you are enrolled section.

UHI have also bought Blackboard training materials. Download them from the Manuals section of this site.
