English Language School
Perth College UHI offers year-round English classes from late August to June. Classes take place at Perth College (in Perth) and include 15-20 hours of tuition per week at variety of levels – from elementary to advanced.
Students write a test at the start of their course and then they are monitored to ensure they are in a class at the correct level.
General Language classes are designed to help you develop your language skills – to speak more fluently and write more clearly, as well as giving plenty of practice in listening and reading. They also include preparation for examinations and assessments.
Our integrated approach lets you practise in specific aspects (grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, situational expressions) in context and gives you opportunities to use and understand English in real-life tasks.
Perth College UHI Language School is a British Council accredited English course provider.
Cambridge ESOL exams are held in March, December and June at Perth College. We prepare students for the Cambridge main-suite exams and the IELTS test. We provide preparation and practice for the different question types and ensure students enter for an examination at an appropriate level.
In addition to year-round language courses, the school at Perth offer summer courses linked with a social programme which will help you understanding local history and customs.
This runs in July and August, combining a holiday in this beautiful part of Scotland with a quality English language course.
There is a maximum class size of 14 students and there are 19 hours of classes per week. Tuition is given for three hours each week-day morning, with two hours on two afternoons. The course is suitable for elementary to upper intermediate students.
The Summer School includes teaching materials, a programme of evening activities and one full-day and one half-day excursion each week. During the summer there are visits to Edinburgh, Loch Ness and the Highlands. Activities include Highland dancing, ten-pin bowling and guided walks
