UHI Millennium Institute is a partnership of academic and research institutions.- The administrative hub of UHI is Executive Office, which has its main offices in Inverness, with further staff based at our partner institutions.
- The staff within the executive office are responsible to the principal of UHI and have functions across the network of academic partners.
These functions are organised into the following departments:

- Academic registry
- Business transformation
- Development office
- Finance and planning
- Gaelic development
- Learning centres
- Learning and information services
- Learning and teaching
- Marketing and communications
- Personnel
- Research office.
The staff employed in these departments have a wide scope of responsibilities including enrolments, UCAS liaison, finance and planning, quality assurance, staff development, development research, marketing and communications, public relations, academic standards, information technology, Gaelic policy and much more.
Academic staff of UHI Millennium Institute are directly employed by the academic partners at the campuses and must be recognised and accredited by UHI's Academic Council as being competent to teach on UHI higher education programmes.
