Learning near you...
Across the Highlands and Islands
Did you ever think that you couldn’t fit
learning into your life? Think again – in the Highlands and Islands there is a
network of over 80 learning centres. The learning centres provide a physical
presence at the heart of many rural communities; they provide accessible and
supportive points into a wide range of learning options – from short informal
interest courses right through to UHI degree level programmes.
Using communications technologies, you can access courses hundreds of miles from your home. You will be able to connect with your tutors and other learners across the region via the internet, email and video-conferencing. You can even work in a virtual learning environment rather than leaving your home.
If you have the drive and enthusiasm, learning centre staff can offer you learning advice and support which will help you to achieve your aims. Family commitments and work or personal circumstances will be taken into account. Many of our students study on a part time basis and at times convenient to them.
You'll find more information about the learning centres in our learning centre list and in each of the UHI campus areas.
If you'd like to speak to someone about courses and facilities available through our learning centres, please contact Margaret Boyd, our Learning Centre Unit Manager, on 01397 874204
