Staff governor (support staff)
Gillian’s academic career has spanned over thirty years and she has the added experience of having started her career in secondary schools before moving into further and higher education. She is passionate about education and lifelong learning and feels fortunate to have found a career that 'ticks all her boxes'.
Outwith the university, Gillian chairs the Royal Society of Chemistry Education Division (Scottish Region), and has sat on various groups involved in the design and delivery of programmes at various academic levels from chemistry to dental technology.
She was one of the founders of the Moray Science Festival that now attracts primary school pupils from a large geographical area.
Gillian has undertaken a number of roles in the university partnership including module leader, programme leader and subject network leader and was assistant director (curriculum and quality) at Moray College UHI. She is head of curriculum at Inverness College UHI.
