Sphero ASG project

The Sphero kit is an excellent way to introduce pupils of all ages to computer science and technology. Activities include; an introduction to coding with Sphero, advanced coding including using loops and variables and building a Sphero chariot. In this project ASG's or clusters of schools can get together to borrow Sphero kits and receive support and training on using them in school.

What do you get?

  • Each school will borrow a class set (33 pupils) of computing equipment for a four week period
  • One joint teacher CLPL at one of your schools on how to use Sphero in the classroom
  • An introductory Sphero session delivered by the STEM team to one class in each school
  • 3 lesson plans to assist you to use Spheros in class

What is in the kit?:

  • 10 x Spheros
  • 5 x Kindles
  • Codeapillar - for early level

How many kits are available?

  • 5 kits, so 5 schools can be involved at a time

If your ASG or cluster of schools would like to take part in the Sphero project please email STEM@uhi.ac.uk with the following details.

  • Names of all schools to be involved in the project
  • A staff contact for each school to be involved
  • Which loan period you are interested in
