Make a donation to help current students

As a former student of the University of the Highlands and Islands would you like to help current students? By making a donation, no matter how small, you can make a real difference to the experience of our students.

Group of alumni

The Student Development Fund is designed to offer a little bit of help to our students. Many students get offered exciting opportunities in connection with their course, which will help their personal development, build their knowledge and expand their horizons. Often these opportunities can be missed due to financial constraints - especially in the Highlands and Islands - where travel costs can be dramatically more.

With nearly eight thousand students currently studying at UHI, there is a great demand for this fund. Our university is important for the economy and the region, but most of all for the future of our students and their ambitions.

Students make an application for a grant from the fund, which is administered by the University of the Highlands and Islands Development Trust. The fund was set up with an initial annual grant of over £5,000 thanks to donations made by various individuals and companies. Our long term ambition is to establish a fund of £25,000 which will build up over the years to provide long-term and continuing support for students.

We would like to help as many students as possible achieve their goals and have the best experience they can at the University of the Highlands and Islands. In order to do this, we need financial help from our friends, supporters and you, our alumni.

Many students have already benefited, read about how some of them have used their awards.

If you would like to support the Student Development Fund, please read about the various ways that you can donate or if you would like any further information, please contact the development office.

Thank you!
