This session will focus on Martin's experience of establishing the flipped classroom environment and the use of video for better teaching and learning. Drawing on his research, discussions will include the nature and function of the flipped classroom, different flipped environments, the benefits of mobile technology in the classroom, experiences of video capture technologies and ways to make your recordings more effective.
Martin Khechara is an Associate Professor for engagement in science technology engineering and maths (STEM) at the University of Wolverhampton. A former research scientist he specialises in microbiology and has an international profile for his research particularly in the use of video and technology for learning. Other than his role as an educator Martin is a public engagement practitioner, science communicator, presenter, writer and performer and believes in the power of STEM and study at university to change lives and actively works in the community to bring the magic of STEM subjects to those that need it the most.
