UHI telephone service
The UHI has a private telephone exchange that connects all the partner colleges as though they were all on the one local exchange.
Some staff use telephone conferencing to support remote students off campus or dispersed students within the UHI partnership. The Alcatel telephone system is very sophisticated and provides a range of facilities that make it ideal for multi point telephone conferencing.
When is the service available?
This service should be available for use 24 * 7, 365 days a year. However there will be times when we need to carryout essential maintenance work, this will be required to address a service fault, or to carryout service improvement work. Whilst we will endeavour to give notice of any work that will require an outage this may not always be possible.

How do I report a problem?

Q: I need to move my telephone, how do I arrange this?
A: Depending on where you are located there may be different rules in place, in the first instance please contact the UHI Servicedesk who will be able to advise you further.
Q: How do I connect to my local operator?
A: Dialling 0 should connect you.
