eduroam - international roaming for education

The 'eduroam' service allows University staff to use Wi-Fi services at thousands of participating sites worldwide. This service has just recently been made available for UHI Students. Unfortunately we are not able to allow FE students access to this service.

Eduroam is now available for UHI and Academic Partner staff and UHI students both at UHI and at participating sites worldwide. To connect to eduroam just enter your userid in the format username@uhi.ac.uk when prompted, and your normal network / email password. You must setup and test your Eduroam connection at a UHI site before travelling to another Eduroam institution.

Due to the duty of care placed on the College, we are unable to offer the Eduroam service to Further Education students as it provides unfiltered internet access.

At some other locations outwith UHI you may need to set your HTTP Proxy to "Auto" - this is a common divergence from the eduroam specification.

See the eduroam guide (PDF) for detailed instructions. In the event of problems please contact the UHI Servicedesk on Extn 150 internally, or on 01463 279150 when off campus.

Smartphone / tablet users may find the "eduroam companion" app useful for finding eduroam-enabled sites when travelling. Download it from the App Store / Play Store for your device.
