Gàidhlig ann am Foillseachadh - Diciadain 19 Ògmhios 2013 aig Sgoil Lionacleit, Beinn na Faoghla, ri a toirt seachad le Rosemary Ward, Stiùiriche Chomhairle nan Leabhraichean, agus an sgrìobhadair Catriona Lexy Chaimbeul.

Free Gaelic lectures to celebrate diamond anniversary

Lews Castle College UHI turns 60 this year. To celebrate this important milestone of one of its partners, the University of the Highlands and Islands, is holding two FREE public lectures on the role of Gaelic in modern life as part of its "our guest" series:

Gaelic in Publishing - Wednesday 19 June 2013 at Sgoil Lionacleit, Benbecula, presented by Rosemary Ward, Director of the Gaelic Books Council, and writer Catriona Lexy Campbell.

These lectures will recognise that Gaelic language and culture are an integral part of Scotland's heritage and national identity. They will also help to highlight the key role Lews Castle College UHI plays in the delivery of Gaelic education. The college, which has campuses in Lewis and Uist, is a centre for excellence in Gaelic subjects including:

  • Gaelic with Education MA (Hons)
  • Gaelic Language and Culture BA (Hons)
  • Gaelic and Development BA (Hons)
  • Gaelic and Communication CertHE
