The Christmas lecture

James Fraser will explore the challenges Scottish universities face in the 21st Century and assess whether what they bring from their past fits them for a fast-changing, evolving global environment. He will argue that the University of the Highland and Islands can offer a new, exciting and more relevant model of university for the challenges which we all face in the 21st Century.

James’ lecture will be followed by an informal interview with Nicky Marr where he will look back on a career in education spanning over 40 years during which he has helped three institutions through to university title, Queen Margaret University, the University of the West of Scotland and the University of the Highlands and Islands.

Presented by James Fraser

Vice-chancellor and Principal of the University of the Highlands and Islands
