University of the Highlands and Islands Stakeholder event
The University of the Highlands and Islands’ Water Quality Innovation Group (WQIG) addresses contemporary challenges associated with drinking water provision, wastewater treatment and resource management in rural and sparsely populated regions of Scotland, and in similar regions elsewhere in Europe and around the world. The WQIG draws on expertise from locations around the Highlands and Islands in the areas of Water analysis; Monitoring and assessment; Water treatment and remediation and in integrated catchment management. Our team has a success track record of working with businesses and stakeholders in key sectors including Food and Drink; Healthcare; Energy and Aquaculture.

We aim to help our partners and collaborators to develop innovative new products and services; to help them meet policy and regulatory challenges; to advance responsible stewardship of water resources and to advance the low carbon economy.
We are holding a stakeholder event to:
- Raise awareness of UHI innovation activity around issues of water quality (including water analysis; monitoring and assessment treatment and remediation and integrated catchment management)
- Promote engagement between UHI and regional businesses and stakeholders with interests in water quality
- Raise awareness of funding opportunities that support and promote knowledge exchange and innovation activity
- Collectively identify future challenges and opportunities
This meeting is open to all interested parties within the region.
