The Centre for History's first talk in the 2015-16 Seminar Series will take place on 29 September 2015 at 5pm in Ross House in Dornoch. Professor Steve Murdoch (University of St Andrews) will present a paper on early modern warfare with a special emphasis on privateering and the taking of prizes. The talk is entitled 'British Privateering and Swedish Neutrality; the Seizure of Prizes 1651-1713'. Steve Murdoch is a real expert on the topic having published extensively on early modern Scottish maritime warfare and having recently spent a year at the Centre for Maritime Studies at the University of Stockholm.
