Orkney Community Digital Heritage is a project which will run over the summer months, where people in Orkney can get involved in capturing their memories, stories and special places using simple technology. This Digital Scotland-funded project invites community members to capture and share stories, place-names, information and memories about places and people in Orkney. which in a simple way lets you use a mobile phone to record your memories of people, places, and stories. We are using a smart-phone app called Edina Fieldtrip gb to collect information. You can take photos or upload photos that you already have. You can write your memories down, or you can press a button and record your voice as you speak about it. The phone automatically knows where you are, using its GPS, and the information you have recorded gets put on a map of Orkney.

All are welcome to the workshop. If you are not used to working with smart phones or iPads, you are particularly welcome! We will show you how to do it.
