More funding for the Digital Heritage Project

Thursday 4 June 2015

The Community Digital Heritage project run by the Centre for Nordic Studies has gained more funding from The Challenge Fund, and the project has therefore been extended to Shetland.

The overall aim of the Orkney and Shetland Community Digital Heritage project is to help older people use digital technology and the internet. CNS staff will teach these people how to use smartphones and tablets with the software Fieldtrip GB to capture place-names and stories attached to places in the landscape. CNS staff will then create an easy-to-use website where all the information will be stored for future generations.
