Orkney Rune Rede now free of charge

Wednesday 12 November 2014

The Orkney Rune Rede, or runic colloquium, which goes ahead on the 21st-23rd May 2015, is in the happy position to have been awarded some generous funding by the Kungliga Humanistiska Vetenskaps-samfundet, Sweden.

The event, which starts with an evening welcome on the 21/5, and continues with a day of academic presentations and an evening dinner on the 22/5 and a bus tour to sites of interest on the Orkney Mainland on the 23/5, is open to anyone with an interest in runes, and, thanks to the funding, free of charge. Please get in touch with the Centre for Nordic Studies on cns@uhi.ac.uk to submit an abstract for a paper, or to note your interest in attending as a non-speaking delegate.

The Orkney Rune Rede is hosted by Centre for Nordic Studies and is part of the Uppsala Runic Colloquium series.
