Ivor MacKenzie

Research Technician

Ivor was born in Inverness and brought up in the village of Muir of Ord.

After receiving his BSc degree in Environmental Science from Stirling University in 2001, Ivor worked as a Biochemical Researcher at the Ness Foundation, including the measurement of hydrocarbons in exhaled breath using thermal desorption techniques and analysis of fatty acids using GCMS.  Currently, Ivor is involved in the completion of several commercial and academic studies within the Department, particularly the measurement of thiols in blood plasma using HPLC with fluorescence detection.

Shortly, Ivor will be re-deployed as the Research Technician to our new Lipidomics Facility.

Outside of work, Ivor enjoys Nature, photography and hillwalking.
