The RLI is developing bespoke research and education facilities on the Inverness new campus which will be complete in August 2015. The Molecular Genetics Laboratory will form the core of these facilities. A Research and Enterprise Hub, will include dedicated space for postgraduate researchers. Three programmes of research study are available :
- Doctoral Research : RLI can support Doctoral Research programmes in molecular genetics and freshwater biodiversity.
- A Masters by Research can be studied in either part-time (two years) or full-time (one year) modes. The programme of study is entirely by research and can be a topic of the students choice/interest, or may be a project offered by staff and associates of the RLI.
- An MRes programme in Freshwater Biodiversity, is currently being developed by RLI and will be available (subject to validation) by August 2015. This will comprise 40% taught modules and a 60% research thesis.
The RLI would welcome communication from individuals interested in carrying out research. Please email: Dr. Melanie Smith if you would like to discuss research opportunities at RLI.
