Calorie Restriction study

Currently not recruiting

What are we doing?

We are investigating if a calorie-restricted diet, compared to a normal diet, can positively affect cardiovascular health as well as body weight in overweight males.

Why are we doing this?

Calorie restriction diets have become very popular in those looking to lose weight. Calorie restriction diets may also have a beneficial impact on cardiovascular health by reducing metabolic stress on the body.

Who are we looking for?

  • Males
  • Overweight (body mass index >30 kg/m2)
  • Aged 30-40 years
  • Low levels of physical activity
  • Not following a dietary regime designed to promote weight loss

How will you benefit?

Following your participation in the study, you will be provided with feedback about your body weight, body mass index, body fat and muscle mass and diet.
