Lecturer in Northern Studies (X2)

Salary range £37,175 - £43,096 per annum, pro rata

The award winning Institute for Northern Studies at the University of the Highlands and Islands is a world leading interdisciplinary research and teaching centre which was rated first in Scotland for research impact and fifth equal with the University of Oxford for research environment across the UK in the Research Excellence Framework Exercise in 2014.

This exciting opportunity will see you joining an enthusiastic and highly motivated team of world leading experts in their fields who have won awards for teaching and are involved in research projects both in the North and across the globe.

Your role will be to support the research and teaching capacity of the Institute for Northern Studies and contribute to its long-term sustainability.

You will have specialist knowledge in at least one of the following areas:

Area Studies, Cultural History, Cultural Tourism, Digital Humanities, Ethnology, Language, Literature

You will have demonstrated teaching ability at a range of levels from undergraduate to postgraduate taught and you will have demonstrated ability to undertake research. You will be a good communicator who works well in a team and under your own initiative.
