Liam was a volunteer student representative for his course committee and was rewarded for his efforts at the 2014 Perth College Student Association OBI Awards, winning the Student Representative of the Year. He also won a Special Recognition Award for his outstanding charity work.

Liam has independently run a football programme for fellow students, completed two "Tough Mudder" events to raise money for Help for Heroes, ran the Alloa Half Marathon for meningitis awareness and is currently acting as a guide for a blind runner.

Throughout the year, Liam has completed a whole range of qualifications which helps gain employment and help with projects on the HND course. He and his classmates have been able to gain Strength and Balance and Walk Leaders courses through Live Active and Paths for All, to help with the older adults sessions they were delivering. Liam also gained employment at Perth Leisure Pool as a lifeguard since the summer, after completing work experience there last year, via the college. He made a good impression and was kept on as a member of staff. He has also completed the Aqua Level 1 course in February through the college and Live Active. All these qualifications and awards will help Liam further develop his skills and knowledge related to the course and also in work.

In 2015, he started the third year of the BSc Sport and Fitness degree.
