Higher Education Childcare Fund

A non-repayable grant for students to assist in meeting the cost of childcare whilst they attend university.  Applications are expected to have taken reasonable steps to maximise income and minimise expenditure whislt undertaking their course. Applications are processed and payments made at the individual academic partner.

If you are a full-time student, this fund will assist you in meeting the cost of childcare whilst you attend University. The funds are paid in addition to any other forms of student support and you are expected to take reasonable steps to maximise your income and minimise your expenditure whilst undertaking your course.

If you are a part-time or postgraduate student, assistance for childcare costs will be considered from the Higher Education Discretionary (Hardship) Fund.

It is important to remember to provide the necessary evidence, along with your application form. PLEASE NOTE: photographs/screen shots are not acceptable due to insufficient quality. All evidence should be provided as a scanned or saved document, for example in PDF format.

PLEASE NOTE: If possible, all evidence should be provided as a scanned or saved document. If you use online banking, you will be able to export your statement to a PDF.

Please DO NOT send a hard copy of an application and/or any evidence by post, unless advised to do so by a member of staff.

Students attending all other colleges - or enrolled with UHI centrally (incl. Centre for History, and Optometry) - will need to download and submit a completed copy by email, using the editable Discretionary Fund Application Form 22-23.
