Thomas and Margaret Roddan Trust Bursary
To be eligible to apply for this bursary you must be either an undergraduate (higher education) in your second year or above, a postgraduate undertaking a taught course, or a postgraduate engaged in research for a higher degree. Please note the bursary is for the 2019/20 academic year and will not be paid until after enrolment in September 2019.
This funding is intended for students who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship, through no fault of their own, or to meet the costs of a specific project or trip which would be of benefit to their studies.
It is important to provide a clear and concise personal statement outlining your circumstances, of no more than 500 words. You should also ensure you provide full financial information as detailed on the application form.
It should be noted that the Trustees would be reluctant to make an award to a student who has not anticipated and/or made no provision for tuition fees or other course expenses at the outset of their course. This would include any field trips which are known in advance to be a specific part of the course.
Applications must be fully completed, signed, and returned by email to Michaela Gilmore by 30th May 2019. Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted.
A panel of university staff will subsequently assess all applications and a maximum of ten will be chosen to forward to the Trust for their consideration.
