Thomas and Margaret Roddan Trust Bursary

content

Following various enquiries about the difficulty the COVID19 measures pose in submitting applications in the normal way this year, the Trustees have reluctantly taken the decision to suspend the scheme for the time being. Applications should not be submitted.

To be eligible to apply for this bursary you must be either an undergraduate (higher education) in your second year or above, a postgraduate undertaking a taught course, or a postgraduate engaged in research for a higher degree.

Please note the bursary is for the 2020/21 academic year and will not be paid until after enrolment in September 2020.

This funding is intended for students who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship, through no fault of their own, or to meet the costs of a specific project or trip which would be of benefit to their studies.

It is important to provide a clear and concise personal statement outlining your circumstances, of no more than 500 words. You should ensure you provide full financial information as detailed on the application form. You will also need to obtain a reference from a staff member which covers your academic and welfare situation.

Any applications which are incomplete, not signed, or do not include a reference will not be accepted.

It should be noted that the Trustees would be reluctant to make an award to a student who has not anticipated and/or made no provision for tuition fees or other course expenses at the outset of their course. This would include any field trips which are known in advance to be a specific part of the course.

Read the Privacy Notice, which clarifies how your data will be used.
