Elite Athletes Fund terms and conditions

  1. Applicants should be enrolled full-time or part-time students of the University of the Highlands and Islands or one of its Colleges on 1st October 2016.
  2. A fully complete application form to be submitted by Monday 24th October 2016 which should include your letter of support/reference.  Any submissions after this date will not be accepted.
  3. Applications should include a detailed breakdown of costs/expenditure showing what funding will contribute towards.
  4. If you withdraw from your course after being awarded funds, you must notify the Fund Administrators.
  5. Applications will only be accepted from individuals, not teams.
  6. Fund is available to Scottish, RUK, EU and International students.
  7. Students involved in academic disciplinary hearings may have their support withdrawn.
  8. Submission of a 500-word written report, ideally with supporting photographs, detailing how the fund contributed towards the student reaching their goals must be submitted to the UHI Student Services team by 31st July 2017.
  9. Failure to complete the mandatory written report before the date given will result in candidates being asked to repay the funds allocated to them.  Candidates concerned about their ability to produce the report should speak to the UHI Student Services team.
  10. Successful students will be paid their award in one instalment, usually this can be expected in November.   Award must be spent by 31st July 2017 and can only be backdated to 24th October 2016.
  11. Successful candidates will be expected (where possible) to take part in promotional activities: such as press releases, case studies for newsletters, annual reports and so on.
  12. Where appropriate, successful candidates will be expected to actively promote the fund internally and externally, e.g. acknowledge support in thesis, presentations.
