The main role of a PEF (Practice Education Facilitator) is to support mentors and practice placement areas and be a link practitioner for practice learning across all healthcare sectors – i.e. NES (NHS Education for Scotland), NHS Highland, the Highland Council healthcare teams, Private sectors, and the Education Providers such as UHI and OU.
I am PEF across east and mid Highland, north to south - from Golspie to Kingussie, west to east - from Lochinver to Elgin. I am based in the UHI Dept. of Nursing at the Centre for Health Science in Inverness and you are welcome to drop in or contact me by email email@example.com, or by phone 01463 279822. In the office, I am kept busy with QMPLE, InPlace and the student allocations, If you think of something that the PEF team, or any of the education and healthcare providers can do to improve the quality of the practice learning experience we would love to hear from you: I am part of the RPIW team who are working to make practice placement allocations an efficient and satisfying experience for all concerned.
