Hannah, Environmental science student
I studied an environmental science higher at UHI while in school, which made me want to do my degree here as well. I knew this was the right course for me as I could learn from fantastic lecturers in good laboratories with high-spec equipment. The practical skills taught during field trips have already secured me an industry placement.. My favourite thing about UHI is the people! Being so close to nature and being able to stay close to family are also great things about living in the Highlands and Islands.

Jacob, Social services graduate
I started studying the Level 5 Pathway to Health and Social Care, which led to the NC Health and Social Care, which has now led to me studying the HNC Social Services. I undertook a placement as part of my studies, which was brilliant as I could put the theory I had learned into practice, and has led to me securing a job. The support received from all staff and lecturers has honestly been amazing! They all go above and beyond. My favourite things about UHI are the support from all staff and fellow classmates. Everyone genuinely cares about each other and it’s such a supportive atmosphere.
