Professor Jon Clipsham is an integral part of the Orkney College UHI Hydrogen Training capability, both developing and delivering courses to our maritime and aviation clients. He has been advising both Orkney College UHI and the wider UHI team on hydrogen training over recent years, ensuring that the future needs of the sector are identified and that Orkney College UHI is prepared and equipped. From his experience, Jon has a deep knowledge of the Orkney green hydrogen eco-system and where that sits in a wider Scottish, UK and global context. He is also a Board Member of the Scottish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association and the first ever approved Hydrogen Training Assessor for the UK Maritime and Coast Guard Agency. Jon is based in Orkney and has a background in metallurgy, catalytic technologies and materials science from Imperial College and the University of Liverpool. He is a visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde.
