International Conference on Medieval and Renaissance Scottish Language, Literature, and Culture
Dr Lucy Dean had a wonderful time catching up with recent UHI Centre for History MLitt History graduate, Ashley Callahan-Campbell at the 18th International Conference on Medieval and Renaissance Scottish Language, Literature, and Culture in Bristol.
Ashley and Lucy both gave papers for the Saints and Sinners panel, titled ‘Saints, Sinners, and Something in Between: Ambiguous Women and the Instability of Patriarchal Historiography in Walter Bower’s Scotichronicon’ and '"Sum men profit and sum to scaith”: Exploring Older Age and Masculinity in Medieval Scotland’ respectively.
They also had the opportunity to try out a manual printing press at Bristol Common Press - a brilliant hands-on addition to a very busy conference schedule!
