MLitt Dissertation

content

Module Summary

This module will provide you with the opportunity to independently put into practice the skills learned throughout the MLitt programmes. You will research and write on an approved topic appropriate to your chosen programme and produce a 15,000 word dissertation. In addition to identifying a topic, theme or issue for study, you will also be required to produce a rationale and identify a series of specific research questions and objectives. A research proposal will be drawn up within the first five weeks of the start of the relevant semester, and should outline the research methodologies to be adopted and a rationale for their selection.  You will also at this stage highlight any potential constraints or likely problems and set out a feasible plan of work. Once the research topic is agreed, a supervisor will be appointed with whom you will arrange supervisory meetings.
