Low Carbon STEM Scholarship
The Low Carbon STEM Scholarship will support one student for the duration of their course (up to 4 years) with an award of £3,000 per year. Low Carbon, a renewable energy company is supporting this STEM scholarship Fund at UHI.
Deadline
31 October 2026The scholarship will support one student scholarship at £3,000 per annum for students studying STEM HE courses based in the Caithness and Sutherland area. Students will be supported for the duration of their course – up to four years.
Eligibility
The fund is focused on students working towards qualifications that would lead to careers in the renewables and wider STEM sectors.
- Student studying a multi-year STEM course at UHI
- Support for up to four years - student will be required to continue to meet academic requirements and provide an annual report of their progress.
- Full-time students and part-time students
- Open to UK/EU and non-EU students
- Student must be a resident of Caithness or Sutherland

Applicants are asked to provide a record of their academic achievement and complete a statement of support which is split into 3 sections:
- Academic success and potential
- Career potential
- Financial situation
Each applicant must provide a personal reference.
