Offshore Wind Skills Hub Bursary Fund

This bursary award of up to £1,500 aims to support students working towards qualifications that will play a key role in the growth of Scotland's offshore wind industry.

Deadline

31 October 2026

The Offshore Wind Skills Hub Bursary Fund is supported by the Scottish Government's Offshore Wind Skills Programme and is aimed at supporting students who face financial, geographic or socio-economic barriers to access training that will support the offshore wind industry.

These bursaries aim to increase participation, diversify the workforce, and ensure equitable access to training across the Highlands and Islands. In particular they seek to support students from low-income backgrounds, women, career changers, and other underrepresented groups as well as students who face geographic challenges accessing courses due to rural and island locations.

The bursary is intended to reduce barriers to participation and may contribute towards:

  • Travel costs associated with training, placements, or work-based learning.
  • Accommodation and subsistence costs.
  • Essential equipment, tools, PPE, and learning materials.
  • Childcare or other caring-related costs that enable participation.
  • Training, certification, or course-related expenses.
  • Other reasonable costs which would otherwise prevent an individual from accessing or completing training.

There are a limited number of up to £1,500 bursaries available.
