External funding intended for students in hardship, to cover expenditure arising from unexpected circumstances.

Undergraduate students in 2nd year or above -  Postgraduate taught course or engaged in research

To be eligible to apply for this bursary students must be either an undergraduate (higher education) in second year or above, a postgraduate undertaking a taught course, or a postgraduate engaged in research for a higher degree.

Please note: this bursary is not available to Further Education or 1st Year undergraduate students.

This funding is intended for students who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship, through no fault of their own. This includes unforseen or unexpected circumstances.

Expenditure which should have been planned at the outset of the course, such as required periods abroad or mandatory field courses/placements, are NOT eligible.
