This programme is particularly well suited to:
- teaching professionals aiming to move into Educational Psychology
- health practitioners, including nurses and mental health support workers, considering a transition into Clinical or Health Psychology
- counsellors or other therapists looking to progress into Counselling Psychology
- business professionals interested in Occupational Psychology
Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), this online programme is one of seven UHI postgraduate courses to achieve a 100% overall student satisfaction score in the 2025 PTES. It offers a broad and critical exploration of psychological theory and practice. You’ll deepen your understanding of what drives human behaviour, what makes us unique, and the ways in which we are similar—while examining key theories and their relevance today.
On successful completion of the full MSc, you will be eligible to apply to the BPS for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, opening the door to further postgraduate training in chartered psychology fields.
The course is delivered primarily online, with a mandatory one-day online induction approximately one week before Semester 1 begins, and a 3–4 day face-to-face residential in Inverness in March.
Interested? Join us for our webinar on Wednesday 18 February at 6.30pm. Hosted by UHI Programme Leader Eileen Calveley, the session will include:
- an introduction to UHI’s MSc Psychology Conversion programme
- an overview of the course content
- insights from past and current students
- information on how you’ll learn and how to apply
- a Q&A session for audience questions
