Please note that due to popular demand, advance booking is essential and spaces are limited. 

At our Open Day you will have an opportunity to tour our campus, meet current students and lecturers to find out about the degree programmes, studying at SAMS, living in Oban and more. There will also be talks and demonstrations to showcase our work. 

This event is ideal for those interested in applying to our BSc (Hons) Marine Science and MSc (Integrated) Applied Marine Science programmes, for 2027 intake and beyond. You can bring family or friends with you as choosing the right university and course in important and you may like to have their input in reaching a decision.

Make a day or a weekend of it!
The Oban area is a fantastic location for any type of outdoor adventure, for Scottish highland culture and for seafood. SAMS' Ocean Explorer Centre, shop and café will be open to visitors over the weekend. Here you can find out more about SAMS' mission to work for healthy oceans and thriving people and about some of the research going on at SAMS.  You can also visit Dunstaffnage Castle next door and find the ruined chapel in the woods. Take a walk around the Dunstaffnage headland and discover stunning pebble beach coves and see what marine life you can find on our rocky shores.
