STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) is a key focus for education and skills development.

At UHI, we embed STEM across our curriculum, encouraging innovation and creativity, especially through the integration of the arts, where STEM becomes STEAM. This interdisciplinary approach equips our graduates to be both highly professional and adaptable.

The UHI STEM Outreach Programme has evolved over several years to address skills gaps in STEM subjects. With support from industry partners, we deliver engaging STEM activities, hands-on resources and training for schools and educators.
