Statkraft winner

Christopher Kaan Caudwell, HND Computer Science

“I am profoundly grateful to be awarded the Statkraft STEM Scholarship. This support represents far more than financial assistance; it is a recognition of my potential and of the vision I am pursuing through both my studies and my work in inclusive technology. Knowing that an organisation like Statkraft believes in me gives me the confidence and motivation to strive for excellence and to push the boundaries of what I can achieve. This scholarship will ease the financial pressures of higher education, allowing me to dedicate myself more fully to my academic progress and the development of projects that matter deeply to me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your belief in me and for investing in the future of students like me.”

Neave Anderson, BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering

“Winning this award has given me an overwhelming sense of pride to be a woman in engineering. I could not be where I am today without the support of all the lecturers who have shared their knowledge and experience with me throughout my studies.

“I would especially like to thank Lois Gray for her guidance and for donating this award in memory of her father. As I begin my final year, this recognition has given me a huge confidence boost. I hope one day to be able to support fellow engineers on their journeys too.”

Glen Dickson, BA (Hons) Adventure Education and Outdoor Learning

“A very big thank you for helping me with this fund. I have a lot of winter experience but never had the confidence or money available to go for the assessment. Going for a refresher first will boost my confidence for the assessment.

“I have a lot of winter experience but never had the confidence or money available to go for the assessment. Once I have my Winter ML qualification, I will be able to work over the winter months providing winter skills courses and guiding locally up Ben Nevis and other mountains.”

Andrew Greig, BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering

“Being awarded this prize is a true honour. When I left school at 16 to start my apprenticeship as an electrical technician, I never envisaged that 14 years later I would have obtained a BEng degree.

“I’d like to thank all the staff at UHI for their support and hard work in helping make this possible. I also want to thank Willie Printie for supporting the university and helping make a difference to students like me.

“Being recognised in this way has inspired me to continue working hard and progressing on my academic and professional journey.”
