Outline

The session explored the idea of ‘digital scholarship’, or how we can use online digital media and networks to engage in the sharing and development of academic knowledge, also looking at how we can harness social media and online networks to develop our own educational practice; engage students in co-creative pedagogic approaches; share good practice with others; and increase engagement with our own scholarly and research outputs. Drawing upon a range of practical examples, a key aim of the webinar is for participants to identify at least one way in which they could benefit from engaging (or further engaging) in digital scholarship activity.

Presenter

Keith Smyth

Keith Smyth is Professor of Pedagogy at the university, and leads the Learning and Teaching Academy. Keith works with colleagues across the university on strategic learning and teaching developments, funded projects and supporting staff to engage in educational research. Much of this work is taken forward through the activities of the LTA.

Keith has particular interests in co-creative pedagogies and curriculum models, open education, technology-enhanced learning, educational strategy and policy, and developing pedagogic research and scholarship. He has written and presented widely in these areas, and has undertaken funded projects for organisations including the Higher Education Academy, Jisc, Scottish Funding Council and NHS.
