UHI Learning, Teaching, and Student Experience Conference 2026

The LTA and UHI conference organising group are delighted to announce that the next UHI Learning, Teaching, and Student Experience Conference will take place in Inverness on the 17 and 18 June. The focus for the conference is on Inclusive Tertiary Learning Journeys at UHI, and will explore how the UHI partnership supports students to engage in their learning journey, positively progress through their journeys and will consider the student learner journeys of the future. The conference will offer delegates the opportunity to participate in presentations, interactive workshops and the popular Gasta sessions as we welcome back Dr Tom Farrelly to the conference. For colleagues unable to present at the conference there is also the opportunity to pre-record a presentation to share at the conference on digital screens and through digital spaces and social media.
The LTA hope to be able to offer some accommodation for colleagues from UHI travelling from outwith Inverness and a small travel contribution to colleagues attending from the Islands. There will also be the opportunity to attend online for some of the sessions.
For colleagues attending on campus there will be networking opportunities throughout the conference and lunch will be provided on both days.
Conference Themes
- Inclusive Engagement: To enhance student learning journeys through inclusive pedagogies, students as partners and beyond the curriculum.
- Positive Progression: Inclusive approaches to supporting student learning journeys into, through, and beyond UHI.
- Future proofing: Conceptualising the UHI Student Learner Journeys of the future.
Submitting a Proposal to Present
UHI colleagues in any role that supports the UHI learner journey are invited to submit a proposal of interest form to present at the conference.
The conference is tertiary focused, so colleagues working across SCQF levels 2-12 in learning and teaching roles, including colleagues in research roles and/or who are undertaking PhDs, and colleagues in strategic leadership roles are invited to submit a proposal.
This conference has a strong focus on student experience and support so colleagues working in professional services and HISA who support the student learner journey are encouraged to submit a proposal.
Please submit a proposal by Friday 27 February 2026. We will be seeking to accommodate as many proposals as possible.
We also welcome colleagues in the sector to submit a proposal form and/or to attend the conference.
